ZsaZsa Zaturnnah Ze Moveeh
For her latest movie, "ZsaZsa Zaturnnah Ze Moveeh," Zsa Zsa Padilla weathered various storms. She admits to going through a difficult movie shoot, while trying to take lightly accusations of being anorexic. All these in addition to a recent scary kidney operation. And yet, like a true, unflappable superheroine, singer-actress Zsa Zsa Padilla has emerged triumphant from all these storms and challenges with her sunny disposition in tact.

Yes, the Divine Diva is all smiles as she prepares to end 2006 on another soaring, triumphant note with the forthcoming Regal Entertainment’s Metro Manila Film Festival entry "ZsaZsa Zaturnnah Ze Moveeh," where she plays the sexy title character. Based on the award-winning comic books by Carlo Vergara, "ZsaZsa Zaturnnah Ze Moveeh" is a musical-fantasy-adventure-comedy (whew!) about a gay beauty parlor stylist named Ada (Rustom Padilla) who transforms into a sexy, no-nonsense female superhero named ZsaZsa Zaturnnah (Zsa Zsa Padilla) whenever he swallows an alien rock. Because great power comes with great responsibility, Zaturnnah must now battle giant frogs, man-hating planet women, and cruel zombies to restore peace to her quiet little town in rural Philippines.
The talented singer-actress who plays her has also had her share of battles to fight because of the highlyanticipated movie. First, she had to get into that super skimpy, revealing costume. Regal Films executive producer Mother Lily Monteverde reportedly told Zsa Zsa Padilla that she had to lose weight if she was to be as sexy as the Zaturnnah from the komiks. The dedicated actress did just that, and was elated when reactions to pictures and video of her wearing the Zaturnnah costume were extremely flattering and positive. Internet bloggers even paid her the ultimate compliment and said she looked great in the costume, and that she came off as being a lot younger-looking than the 40+ years she proudly admits to being in real life.
The Divine Diva is also proud of her teleserye "Bituing Walang Ningning" which was very well-received, and Padilla’s performance as the "Crying Diva" was singled out as one of the show’s most compelling elements. And then there were the numerous acting accolades she received for playing the insecure Chinoy wife in "Ako Legal Wife," her 2005 MMFF entry. Just a week after her kidney operation last month, Padilla collected her fifth Best Actress trophy from the Entertainment Press for her unforgettable portrayal in the comedy drama.
Now, with the forthcoming release of "Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah," Padilla is quick to say how proud she is of her work in the film, though she’s not expecting any acting accolades. "Zsa Zsa Zaturrnah was a very difficult shoot," she relates, "because it’s the most physical thing I’ve ever had to do. I had to be strapped to the flying harness and had to perform certain stunts and learn many action routines. I also had to act in front of the green screen and imagine things there, like the giant frog, which isn’t as easy as it seems. And in many of these scenes, I also had to sing! But I’m proud of our efforts, everyone in the cast and crew. I think we’ve made a very entertaining movie that captures the unique spirit of Carlo Vergara’s story and characters. There were many challenges facing us everyday, but we had fun overcoming them."

"Zsa Zsa Zaturrnah Ze Moveeh" is directed by Joel Lamangan and produced by Roselle Monteverde-Teo for Regal Entertainment Inc. Manny Valera is the supervising producer, while the executive producer is Lily Monteverde. The movie also stars Rustom Padilla, Pops Fernandez, Alfred Vargas, Chokoleit, Pauleen Luna, Glaiza de Castro,Giselle Sanchez,Kitkat, Alwyn Uytingco and Christian Vasquez. "Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah Zeh Moveeh" wages her colorful war against the forces of evil beginning Dec. 25 as an official entry to the 2006 Metro Manila Film Festival.
