Sarah Geronimo to Star on Dear Heart in January
After months of delay, Sarah Geronimo is finally filming her first solo movie, "Dear Heart" in January. The film has been postponed for a long time because of Sarah’s hectic schedule. She had been preoccupied with "Bituing Walang Ningning," the movie inspired telenovela that had a successful run. Then she had to fly to the US for her concert tour.
Vic del Rosario of Viva Films, the producer of "Dear Heart" assures Sarah’s fans that the long wait will soon be over. Joining Sarah in the cast are Eddie Garcia, who played Sharon Cuneta’s father in the original "Dear Heart" movie and who will play Sarah’s grandfather this time. Christopher de Leon, meanwhile, steps into the role of Sarah’s father.
Boss Vic wants John Lloyd Cruz to be Sarah’s love partner in the film. "I hope Star Magic lets John Lloyd star in ‘Dear Heart,'" he says.
If negotiations for John Lloyd don’t work out, Boss Vic says there are many other talents he could choose from. Mel del Rosario writes the script. The director will be announced soon.
Boss Vic however makes it clear that the movie is not a remake of the Sharon-starrer. "We just drew inspiration from the original," he says.
Sarah had just returned from her "The Other Side of Sarah" tour in the US which played to packed theaters. She also sang the Philippine National Anthem during the boxing match in Las Vegas between Manny Pacquiao and Erik Morales. "Grabe po kakaibang experience po iyon. Kinilabutan po ako. Proud akong maging Filipino," she said.
