Japanese Mayo vs Korean Sandy
Newcomer recording artist Mayo Suzuki confessed to experiencing 'sweet moments' with Sandara Park's boyfriend Joseph Bitangcol in a recent mall show where she invited the latter to be her special guest.
"Inaaamin ko po na sweet kami. Actually, siya po yung sweet ang gestures sa akin," Mayo told the Manila Bulletin during her album launch Saturday at the Virgin Café in Tomas Morato, Quezon City. The half-Japanese, half-Filipina just came out with her debut CD "Mayo: Telling My Heart" produced by her mother Maribel Suzuki and released through Ivory Muisc and Video.
Mayo also admitted to having a crush on Joseph and Christian Bautista. "Crush ko nga po siya at si Christian Bautista kasi po idol ko po yun," she disclosed. Asked how come she has a kind of fascination on celebrities who already have girlfriends (as Christian is committed to Rachelle Ann Go), Mayo just shrugged, "Wala lang po. Yun lang po talaga yung mga hinahangaan ko."
However, the 17-year-old recording artist denied she ever set out to snag off Sandara's boyfriend and defended she has no intentions of hurting the Korean young actress. "Wala naman po akong intention na sirain ang relasyon nila. Ang sa'kin lang po, si Joseph po yung gusto kong maging guest at pumayag naman po siya kaya okay lang po sa'kin. Kung naging sweet man kami, hindi naman po ibig sabihin nun na inaagawan ko na ng boyfriend si Sandara. Napakabait naman po talaga ni Joseph sa'kin."
Japanese vs Korean?
Previous reports revealed that Sandara was jealous of Mayo because the half-Japanese, half-Filipina newcomer did not mind being vocal about having crush on her Joseph and this was, apparently, too much for Sandara.
Whatever damage this issue may have caused to Sandara and Joseph's relationship, Mayo wishes to clear her name and express concern. "Ayoko naman na ako ang maging dahilan kung maghiwalay man sila," the daughter of a Japanese construction magnate disclosed.
But if the two will end up in a break up, she will only give chance to Joseph should he court her seriously. "Kung mabait po siguro siya, baka po pagbigyan ko. Pero wala naman talaga kong intentions na pag-awayin sila."
In fact, if Mayo will be given the chance, she would grab a talk with Sandara to make the latter feel better. "Sana magkausap po kami. Kung magkita man po kami, sana malaman niya na hindi ko intention na magalit siya o maging dahilan ng pag-aaway nila kung totoo man na nagselos siya. Mabait naman kasi si Joseph at nagkataon na siya lang talaga yung gusto kong makasama."
Asked what her edge is over Sandara, the young talent just smiled. "Nandito po ako ngayon sa Philippines para ipakita ang talent ko sa singing. I know I came in at a time na uso ang banda at Bossa Nova pero I'm willing to give it a shot and try anything. May mga ibang projects pa naman po kaming plano kaya I don't mind doing other genres para po sa career ko," she stated.
"Mayo: Telling My Heart" includes the following revivals and originals: "Pasulyap-Sulyap," "Nais Sabihin," "Telling My Heart," "In My Heart And Mind," and "China-China (Japanese version of "Pasulyap-Sulyap"). The nine-cut CD also includes minus one of "Pasulyap-Sulyap," "Nais Sabihin," "Telling My Heart," and "In My Heart And Mind."
