'Halimaw' sa ABS-CBN
WE heard ABS-CBN is doing a horror series on the award-winning horror flick, "Halimaw sa Banga", which was directed by Mario O'Hara, produced by Nora Aunor and gave Maritess Gutierrez the best new movie actress award for her performance in the title role as the evil spirit that inhabits an ancient jar. This is not something new for them as they also gave us the sleek horror thriller of Chito Roņo, "Spirits", last year. Also, they must be inspired by the success of "Pedro Penduko" with PBB's Matt Evans and its scary characters like kapre and manananggal that now attract the viewers, trouncing GMA7's "Fantastikids" in the ratings.
Wonder who'd play the title role this time. We think Kristine Hermosa would be perfect as the avenging "Halimaw". After all, her last teleserye, "Gulong ng Palad", was such a big hit and she's not doing anything regular on TV now, although she has shot a new horror flick, "Huwag Kang Lilingon."
Rica Peralejo will also suit the role as she has done horror films like "Malikmata" and "Spirit of the Glass" that did well at the tills during the Metro Filmfests. We heard also being tapped to play important roles are Aiza Seguerra (who shone in "Aswang" before) and Ai Ai de las Alas (after her stint in "Bituing Walang Ningning".
