Gerald No Comparison to Mark
ABS-CBN's Gerald Anderson is being pitted against GMA-7's Mark Herras as the Bad Boy of the Dance Floor, but he says he doesn't want to compete with Mark.
"More than two years na siya sa showbiz at bago pa lang ako, so there's no comparison," he says, even if he has his own hit dance album like Mark. Some people think he's "mayabang" but after you get to know him, you'd discover he's really friendly and has wonderful PR. Growing up in Missouri until his early teens, he says he's actually "torpe". "I'm not the aggresive type," he adds. "I was even scared to approach girls. But here, it's the girls who come up to me. I'm used to girls who pretend to be somebody else when they're around me."
This is the reason why he likes his partner in "First Day High," Kim Chiu. "Kasi she's always been very natural, what you see is what you get. She has a cute and pretty face, but that's not what I first noticed in her when we were in PBB. It's her attitude na no pretensions."
But Kim says she's not yet ready to get into a relationship. "Kasi, 'yung first boyfriend ko sa Cebu, niloko ako. Ang sakit at ayo-kong masaktan uli. Minsan, I tell Gerald, 'Kayong mga lalake, manloloko', and he'd tell me, 'Hindi lahat'. But I think it's better for us to focus on our career first."
How were their three co-stars in "First Day High": Maja Salvador, Geoff Eigenmann and Jason Abalos? "At first, quiet lang kami ni Kim as we're mere beginners," says Gerald. "It's just our first movie, sila, may iba nang nagawa. But we quickly became friends kasi they gave us tips on how to attack our roles and deliver our lines properly. We enjoyed their company and I want to thank them for being so nice to us."
