ABS-CBN Fined for Violating Gag Order

We heard from the grapevine that ABS-CBN network has been slapped with a P500,000.00 fine for violation of the gag order imposed by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) regarding the annulment case filed by Liz Almoro against her husband Willie Revillame.

According to my source, the penalty was brought about by news features airing information about the case aired on ABS-CBN’s "Bandila" and "The Buzz" last week. The gag order was petitioned by the camp of Liz Almoro, the source said.

Last Tuesday morning, our source said both Liz and Willie were present during the initial closed-door pre-trial hearing on the annulment case. "Liz was there before 8 a.m. even if the schedule was at 8:30 a.m. She was accompanied by her sister. She politely refused to talk to the press gently pointing out that by speaking to the press, they might be violating the gag order issued on the controversial case," the source told us.

The source also observed that Liz didn’t look depressed. "She was fine. She smiled at us and just managed to say ‘cheese’ when the cameras rolled."

Liz was represented by lawyer Katrina Legarda who told the media people waiting outside that Liz is now undergoing therapy after her psychological assessment showed she is suffering from battered-wife syndrome.

How true is it that Willie Revillame is taking a very strict precaution about his safety that he opted to make a dressing room in ABS-CBN his temporary sleeping quarters?

We heard from the grapevine that Willie used to be billeted at Rembrandt Hotel, very near ABS, but due to security measures, he is now occupying a dressing room in the network, along with his bodyguard.
