PBB to Postpone Second Season

SOURCE: The Manila Bulletin

Early this month, "Pinoy Big Brother" announced the schedule of nationwide auditions for its second season which is to commence in August. However, only last week, "PBB" said the auditions were postponed and would be moved to later dates, most likely after the end of the "PBB" Teen Edition, scheduled to have its finals on June 3.

But there's talk inside ABS-CBN that the second season of "PBB" which will supposedly see a new batch of 12 housemates, will be moved to January next year, that's why the auditions have been postponed. There were even plans for "PBB" to hold international auditions in countries where The Filipino Channel (TFC) is being aired. But that, too, will have to wait, according to our source.

Many will definitely be disappointed to learn of the postponement especially since there are thousands of hopefuls out there who want to get a shot at fame and fortune. For most of those who have joined "PBB," they have made the hit reality show their stepping stone to showbiz and a better life.

"PBB" stands as one of the most successful and top-rating programs of ABS-CBN to date. One reason of the postponement of the second season that we speculate is the busy schedule of "PBB" director and producer Lauren Dyogi. He probably needs time off from the reality show to work at the helm of the forthcoming Sharon Cuneta-Aga Muhlach screen reunion to be filmed abroad.

Meanwhile, June 3 will see another "PBB" big winner in the Teen Edition. So far, there are six remaining teen housemates – Mikey, Clare, Jamilla, Brenda, Gerald and Kim. Two of them who will have the lowest number of votes this weekend will be evicted, thus giving way to the Big Four for the finals. Big Brother has called off the nomination process and instead allowed the remaining six teen housemates to get votes from their loyal followers.
