Who Luvs NY?

GMA Network's newest primetime offering, I LUV NY, is set in the romantic city of New YorkThis is the first Philippine primetime TV soap to use a world-class location as its backdrop, around which revolves the story of the four main characters. Yes, in the city that never sleeps, love keeps pairs Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin, and Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras up and about.

The love story is shot in different landmarks in New York, where our major characters will meet, encounter adventures and misadventures, and eventually, fall in love.

Beginning May 15 viewers will be swept off their feet by this double-dose of romance, featuring the much-awaited reunion of their favorite screen pairs Jolina and Marvin, as well as StarStruck's most talked about couple Jennylyn and Mark.

The romantic tale begins with Baste's (Mark Herras) dreams of earning enough money to go to the United States to look for his long-lost mother. Rumor has it she resides in California. By a stroke of luck, he is picked as a contestant on Laban O Bawi, and chances upon a way of fulfilling his dreams. However, instead of landing in California, he finds himself in New York. Life then takes an even more interesting turn when he meets Natalie (Jennylyn Mercado).

In New York, Natalie runs away from home because her parents insist on marrying her off to a young man she doesn't know. It isn't that they don't love her. Her family's failing business needs this marriage if they are going to stay afloat. But Natalie refuses to be a sacrificial lamb.

And then there's Albert, Natalie's close cousin. Due to his spate of love problems, Albert often takes his anger out on his employees. Fed up with his behavior, his receptionist resigns. This is where Polly (Jolina Magdangal) comes in, for as soon as she reads in the papers about the opening for a receptionist in the apartment, she immediately applies for the job. Unknown to Polly, her would-be boss is her exact opposite for just as Polly's life is topsy-turvy, the neat-freak Albert's is completely organized!

Joining I LUV NY's two pairs of love birds are William Martinez and Yayo Aguila as Joaquin and Susan, Baste's parents; Caridad Sanchez as Lola Juliana, Baste's grandmother; Tirso Cruz III and Carmi Martin as Edward and Diane, Natalie's parents; Gabby Eigenmann and Krizzy Jareno as Paul and Shayne, Natalie's siblings; Isabel Oli as Wendy, Polly's rival for Albert's heart; Alfred Vargas as Seb or Sebastian Santos, Baste's namesake and the young man set to marry Natalie; Mike Tan as Jero, the bellboy who is Baste's confidante in New York; LJ Reyes as Ponyang, Baste's tomboyish best friend in the Philippines; Kirby de Jesus as Sunshine, Natalie's gay best friend; and Neil Ferreira as Billy, Natalie's persistent suitor.
