Eighth Nomination Night (Part II)
The first half of classes in the Pinoy Dream Academy is already in the books, and after the grueling midterm week, the scholars are now looking forward to their chance to start anew. For four students, however, the second half would start with a bleak nomination night, eighth for the Academy.

Rosita, who got the lowest midterm score, has already been pre-nominated last gala night. This puts her in dire straits, as it is her fourth nomination; and, like Michelle, must avoid being in the bottom four for the rest of her stay in the Academy. This prompted Headmaster Jim to tell Rosita not to focus too much on her gala performances; this nomination is a result of her not paying too much attention on the technical side of things. A sad turn of events, as Rosita actually got a grade of 8.6 for the gala.

The opposite holds true for Chai, who despite garnering the highest score in the midterms with an impressive 92%, found herself on the bottom four with a score of 7.1. Judge Kitchy Milina reasoned: "Malinis naman ang kanta mo, pero parang may kulang na elemento… di mo na-absorb ang kanta." Headmaster Jim added that there must be a balance between the technical and the practical aspect.

Next up was Ronnie, who got a 7.0, the lowest this week. Judge Freddie Aguilar was stern in his decision, saying: "Higit na nakaangat ang mga kasama mo sa yo (during gala performance)." He added, however, that he sighted Ronnie's potential and that he should give it his all. The first time probee took it as a challenge, saying: "Kelangan ko pa ng konting effort."

Rounding out the probationary students was Eman, who as Judge Nonoy Zuniga said: "Nalulungkot kami na na-nominate ka this week… dapat mag-focus ka on the song, at magpractice ka pa sa intonation." He also attested it to the song being difficult. Eman now has to improve his 7.2 score to keep him in the clear for next week.

And should these four probees need some inspiration, look no further; Yvan, who was shocked at his nomination last week, worked his way up – and succeeded. He got a stellar 9.5 last gala night, singing a very difficult song ('Say You'll Never Go' by Neocolours), and making him the star scholar for the week.
