Sixth Expulsion Night (Part IX)

You can't beat the statistics; and Kristoff got the stiff arm of that statement tonight, making him the sixth scholar to be expelled from the Pinoy Dream Academy.

Tonight only the text votes were announced, with Chad getting 39.21%, putting him on top. Overall, however, Kristoff's performance earned him a grade of 7.1, putting him in tomorrow's nominations for the fifth time. And unfortunately, academy rules state that a fifth nomination meant automatic expulsion. It was a bad twist of fate for Kris, whose performance made Judge Noli Trinidad say "Ang saya mo panoorin." Ironically, his original composition turned out to be his last.

First to perform this sixth expulsion night was star scholar Yeng, who delivered an astounding performance that elicited Judge Kuh Ledesma to say "You are on your way, girl!" Next to sing and first of the probationary scholars was Rosita, whose rendition of "Higit Pa Riyan Ang Alay Ko" had Judge Eugene Villaluz praising: "Ang ganda ng nuances mo sa kanta, alam mo kung san ka bibigay; at ang lakas ng mass appeal mo."

The second probationary scholar Michelle sang the popular ballad 'Without You', which led to Judge Kuh praising her improved placement, and that she made the song more beautiful. Chad sang his own version of 'Anak', making Judge Eugene say: "I didn't know you could sing it that way… you made the song your own!

A surprise was also in store; the Dream Girls, who were composed of past students and scholars of the academy, performed for the first time as well.

After the performances Headmaster Jim had other plans; he instead ended it himself with a blockbuster announcement, saying that starting Monday a comprehensive midterm exam will be held, and the lowest grader will automatically be nominated for the 8th expulsion night. How will the scholars fare this midterm, and who will be the next batch of nominees?
