Ram Felix Rengel, Jr.
There is the sub-story in these beckoning images at Le Spa, an urban haven amidst the city's hustle and bustle. It is a yarn of battle flesh and spirit come alive because of the indulgent care of the city's undoubtedly posh-iest spa.
But then again, take time to examine the photographs, not only do they capture in the essence of the place, they give you-umm-a picture of what happens to you when you take that much deserved respite. Still in the throes of envy at Ram Felix Rengel, Le Spa owner, after learning that he and his family of three is living within the confines of the hideaway he has created in Cogon District, Tagbilaran City, Bohol, the team had to be contented with watching the models sample the luxuries that Le Spa has been known to offer since its inception last year. We have to repeatedly hear them give out pleasure moans as their bodies were soothed by expert touch, scent oils, and Zen-ish instrumental music. We feigned smiles as we held photographic paraphernalia and tried our best to absorb the explanation of Le Spa masseurs and masseuses with every touch, maneuver and salve they apply.
The amiable owner explained to us that their move to construct a new complex of their own. The Courtyard—a posh compound that houses the spa with the business unit and soon a pension house—was bolstered by their growing clientele. "Plus, the clients want only the best service yet at the same time always cost conscious like the true frugal Boholanos that they are."
Now with a roomier place replete with two floors of gym above the spa, the service goes several notches higher while the cost remains very affordable. An hour's use of the gym at P100 gives you access to the pool after you sweat it out while a soak at the hydro therapy bath at P400 comes with a full body massage. Talk about stretching your money's worth!
The shoot was done. The models positively invigorated. The rest of us simply made long stares at Le Spa's well planned set-up: floor to ceiling, windows that took full advantage of the landscaped courtyard; the circular pool with two smaller elevated whirlpools: the individuals massage rooms with partition drapery that could be open to accommodate the group session with massage therapists; the sauna room; the city's only hydro therapy tub; the scent oils and candles; extensive coffee table literature; and more.
And then, Ram smiled and said;” You would better know the whole thing when you experience it first-hand.” Good thinking. With words like rejuvenating calming the soul while invigorating the body, serenity, affordable comfort in our minds, we had a moment's contentment as deadlines faded into thin air. Nevertheless, the experience proved to be mind stimulating as well since it did not blur our better judgment to recount the experience without the pain of seeing our less aesthetically advantaged selves in the portrait.
