A Visit to a Butterfly Farm: Sagbayan, Bohol
On New Year's Eve, my family, together with my staff had a tour of Bohol. I have to admit that despite living in Bohol for most of my childhood, and now since last 2003, I have not been to all nooks and corners of the island. The island seems to offer endless possibilities for a person (like me) looking for some good stories and photos to share to the world.
In this edition of my photoblog, I am sharing with you some photos of butterflies that I have taken during one of our stops in the tour. I took the pictures inside the butterfly dome and sanctuary within the Sagbayan Peak premises. Although the dome was small, approximately 40 square meters, surprisingly, it houses at least 20 species of butterflies.
Armed with my Canon A610 camera, I indulged myself with the colors and beauty of the butterflies. While the rest of my staff went to see some other stuff within the Sagbayan Peak premises, I stayed inside the dome wandering around. I was so enchanted by the experience. I just hope you would also like them. What do you think?

I did not know that there are such bueautiful butterfies in Bohol. I remember that there was a butterfly sanctuary outskirt of Bacolod City. Is butterfly a special insect for Filipino?
Reply from the author: Butterflies are special to Filipinos. They are used as ornaments. For very special weddings, butterflies are released, signifying abundance and wealth for the couple.
